Collection: Vintage Art Post Cards

With a pile of old art magazines, art catalogs and a draw full of postcards I prepared myself in 2020 for the first lock-down. I started to produce analogue collages which focus on a re-stageing of art history and a re-telling of its stories that have been handed down over the centuries. What first started as a lock-down project, continued ever since as a sideline to my studio practice. Although both, my paintings and the collages, are conceptually linked as they share my interest in a reworking of the past for a contemporary context, the collage work remains to me a pastime occupation; lighthearted, playful and as such valuable in its own way. Each collage is unique and individually wrapped. The reverse of the card is blank with my signature and date in pencil. - Christina Niederberger
